Ninetology Black Pearl 2 for RM 299!

Just got this amazing Ninetology Black Pearl II (model i9400) budget phone today for RM299. This is a phone by Ninetology Malaysia. 

Original price of this Black Pearl 2 phone is (RRP: RM599). I manage to got this phone at a cheap price of RM299 after RM100 manufacture rebate and RM200 SKMM rebate by the goverment (Pakej Komunikasi Belia). To apply for SKMM rebate, please go to SKMM website, then click on either student or employee and fill in the details until you get a registration successful. Print out the form after you fill in. You have to bring/photostat your IC and student card (for student only) when you make the purchase at Authorize SKMM shop.

This is a great phone with 3 months 1 to 1 exchange warranty and 1 year limited warranty. Look like S3 mini, but with at par performance (in Antutu Benchmark).

The advantage of Black Pearl 2 besides its affordable price is its Dual 1.0 Ghz core which scored 6921 on antutu benchmark, almost similar to Samsung galaxy S II, and better than Samsung Galaxy S III mini. The performance of this phone is great without lag when playing Temple Run 2, Subway Surfer, and high demanding Blood and Glory android games. Moreover, this phone runs on recent Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 operating system with "Go launcher Ex" launcher . The 8MP camera equipped with HDR feature can also take a decent photo.

The disadvantage of this phone is apps cannot be move to external SD card with v16 firmware. However, this can be fix by upgrading to v17 firmware in Ninetology service center. Moreover, the battery drain quite fast even when idle on v16 firmware (about 5% per hour) and I noticed that it is awake (processor run on peak 1.0 Ghz) although I put it in sleep mode. This problem be sometimes be fix by Setting -> Wifi -> Advance -> change kee wifi on during sleep to "Never" or by upgrading your Black Pearl 2 to v17 firmware in service center. The flash of this phone is too dim when taking photo at night.
